Modular & unit cabinets

The ten cabinets, how they combine, and how the grid lets you change the face without changing the footprint.

The short answer

Ten cabinets, one height, one depth. Fixed widths combine into any run, and the face can change without a new carcass.

How the ten cabinets combine into a run

The grid, the width arithmetic, and which combinations produce a clean run without a filler.

Before you read the guides

How the ten modules combine

These are the decisions the guides below keep returning to. Settle them roughly first; the articles then fill in the detail.

  1. One height, one depth

Every module shares the 900 mm height and the 656 mm depth line, so any two of them sit together without a step.

  2. Widths are fixed

400, 450, 500, 600, 800, 900, 1,075 and 1,182 mm. A run length is a sum of those numbers, which is why the layout comes before the price.

  3. A run is a sequence

Modules bolt to each other through the frame. That is what makes a two-module balcony run and a six-module terrace the same product.

  4. Corners are modules

HW-08 turns a run left and HW-09 turns it right. Neither is a cut-down cabinet, which is why the plan dimension is 1,075 mm on both legs.

  5. Open ends need a panel

HW-11 and HW-12 close a visible end. Without one, the honeycomb core edge is what a visitor sees from the side.

Questions this section gets most

If the answer you need is not here, the enquiry form asks for the grill model and the run length and nothing else.

Can I add a module later?

Yes, if the run still has an open end and the finish is still on the card. Additions after the run is against two walls usually mean rebuilding it.

Is the run made to measure?

The run length is. The modules are not — they are fixed-width units assembled to reach that length.

How is a gap to the wall closed?

With a 400 mm single-door module if the gap is usable, or with a sight panel if it is only a few centimetres. The difference is decided at drawing stage.

One field, then a configuration and a price. If your grill is one we have not cut for, we will ask for the manufacturer's drawing rather than guess at it.
