HW-11 · Left-hand end panel
Left sight panel
The 18 mm sheet that closes the exposed left end of a run. Without it, the end of the run is the side of a cabinet; with it, the end of the run is a finished panel.

Deciding
When the left-hand end is the one on show
Nothing here is a sales argument. Three of the four cases below end with us telling you not to order the part.
Against a wall, no panel is needed
If the left end of the run lands on a wall, the wall is the finish. A sight panel there adds 18 mm to the run and buys nothing, so we will tell you to leave it off rather than sell it. This is the commonest case, and the one worth checking first.
On a walkway, the left end is fully exposed
Where people walk past the end of the run to reach the grill, the left flank is in view from three quarters. That is the case the panel exists for: it turns the outside of a cabinet into a flat finished face and covers the seam where the door meets the side.
Straight after a corner, check before ordering
A left-hand end that follows HW-08 or HW-09 is usually already closed by the corner cabinet's own side panel. Putting HW-11 on top of that pays for a panel nobody will see. Read the drawing before adding it.
The grill cabinet is the usual left end
At 1,182 mm the grill cabinet is the widest module in the range, so a run that grows to the right often starts with it. Its left flank then becomes the end of the run — and on a deck that flank is the first thing visible from the house.
Straight answers
Questions about this module
Do I need one on both ends of a run?
Only on the end that is visible. If one end lands against a wall or a return, that side needs nothing — the panel would be paid for and never seen.
Is it finished in the same colour as the door?
Yes, from the same colour card. A custom colour carries the same one-off matching charge as the rest of the order, not a separate one for the panel.
Why is it 890 mm and not the 900 mm of the cabinet?
890 mm is the height recorded in our standard cabinet manual for this part, and it is the figure we build to. If your design needs the panel to run to a different line, say so at order and it is cut to that instead — it is a flat sheet, so the height is a cutting decision.
On the same run
What ends up beside a left-hand panel
A left end is rarely alone. These are the modules that most often sit against HW-11.
HW-12, on the other end
A freestanding island has two visible ends, so a left panel and a right panel are ordered together. Ordering one and not the other is the usual cause of an island that looks finished on one side.
HW-03, the grill cabinet
At 1,182 mm it is the widest module, so it frequently anchors the left end of a run. The panel then closes the flank of the grill cabinet itself, which is the widest bare face in the run.
HW-10, single door
Narrow widths of 400, 450 or 500 mm are common at the end of a run because they take up the leftover length. A 400 mm module with a sight panel reads as a deliberate full stop rather than an offcut.
HW-04, storage 800
Where the left end is also the back of the kitchen, an 800 mm store gives full-height access and the panel closes its outside face. This is the configuration that hides most behind a single panel.
